Chimney Caps
If you check the chimneys in the community it is clear that most are rusting and causing rust stains on the siding. The chimney caps are made of galvanized metal and although they are rust resistant, after 15-20 years, they do rust. Rust is the breakdown of metal from the weather, mainly water, and will cause leaks in your home. When you have your chimney cleaned, and we should all have that done every two to three years, have the chimney cap checked. At this age of the community, most chimney caps should be replaced.
