Vandalism

Dear Homeowners:

At the present time, we are experiencing substantial vandalism to the common property in the community. This includes walkway lights having the electrical fixtures broken, the flood lights on the signs on Schmidt Lane were smashed twice and on-going damages to all of the Riverbend signs, either in part or whole. The latest of which is evident at this time on the Riverbend sign on Hidden Lake Drive which has had almost all of the letters ripped off the side. It is estimated that including the latest vandalism to the sign these damages have cost your Association (which you all are paying towards) close to $5,000 for repair/replacement. Yesterday, a vandalism report was filed with the North Brunswick Police and this morning, I met with a Lieutenant in the Investigation Division of the Police Department to review the damages with him.

He has requested that this letter be sent to all community members requesting that the homeowners in the community be aware of this matter and at any time if any homeowner sees or hears anything suspicious, day or night, he is requesting that these homeowners call the North Brunswick Police immediately. He has advised that if the caller wishes to remain anonymous they will honor that request. He has further suggested that the Police be called even if teenagers are observed loitering in groups in the community or the surrounding areas.

We have 142 homes in the community which relates to more than 284 people and many pairs of eyes. You are urged to be aware of this problem and to keep a look out and inform the Police if you have the slightest suspicion of any goings on in and around the community.

We are counting on all of your involvement in assisting us in putting an end to this destructive practice, caused by unknown individuals that is costing your Association unnecessary additional dollars.

Very truly yours,

Trees

Dear Homeowners:

The community is currently 25 years old. Many of the Association trees are being looked at for pruning and even removal for safety reasons. We want to remind all of our neighbors that the trees within each homeowner’s fenced in areas are the responsibility of the homeowner.

We would like to encourage all homeowners to have these trees inspected by a certified arborist. Many of these trees have outgrown the spaces that they were originally planted in. In many homes, branches from these trees are touching and hanging over roofs of homes, this includes the roofs of neighboring homes. We should all be reminded that if any of these trees or their branches fall on homes or structures in the community, this would present a liability to the owner whose property the tree is planted on.

Once again, we urge you all to have the large trees in your private yards inspected, pruned, and even removed where necessary.

Very truly yours,

Board of Trustees
