Sealcoating Completed
The sealcoating is finished, and not a moment too soon. I guess the board – and the contractors – deserve a break for getting the job done before the rain.
Lines being repainted in my court
The image shows those fugly lines being repainted in my court. I don’t know about you, but I really hate those lines. I hate them almost as much as I hate the No Parking signs. Both do much to disturb the beauty of our community.
The story I heard was that the Township was fielding Riverbend resident complaints about parking, both on Riverbend Drive and on Community property. After a while they tired of the complaints and decided to retaliate. Claiming that the Community was inaccessible to emergency traffic, they erected the ugly signs and made us paint the lines, and finished by threatening to step up enforcement of the parking ordinances.
Now I’m not certain whether or not the story’s true, but it sure seems plausible to me.
Remind me to tell you the story I’ve heard concerning why we have a trash pickup on Monday.

Uh Oh – Board Drops the Ball!
It’s come to my attention that the Board’s recent (September 4th) notice entitled “Urgent Sealcoating” contained bad information! The work actually began today, September 22, rather than September 23 as written.
Does that mean that all the work is off by one day? Your guess is as good as mine! I hope no one got towed!
Correction: Board Candidate Resume Requests
Dear Homeowners:
We recently sent you notice that at the upcoming election in November, one (1) board seat was up for election. Please note that the notice was incorrect and we want to make you aware that there are two (2) positions up for election this year. Those seats are currently being held by Ken Bierstein and Toni D’Angelo.
If you are interested in volunteering for the community, please complete the resume form that was mailed to you last week and forward it to the Management Office by October 3, 2008.

There was a period of instability ths morning – about ten minutes worth – while I upgraded to the latest version of WordPress.
Yesterday’s mail brought an announcement from the Board. When I come in off the deck – I’m watching for the hurricane – I’ll scan it and add it to the site. Well, what do you know – I think I feel a few drops of rain…
Urgent Sealcoating
Dear Riverbend Homeowners:
Please be advised that the sealcoating in your court will begin on:
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2008, (weather permitting).
All vehicles that you will be using during the day MUST BE MOVED out of your garage by 7:00 A.M. ALL vehicles parked in the parking spaces in your court must also be moved by 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, September 23, 2008.
No driving or parking of vehicles will be allowed in the courts while this work is being done. Cars will be permitted to return when barriers are removed indicating that the project is complete. This is anticipated to be three days later.
FAILURE TO COMPLY, will result in vehicles being towed at the owner’s expense. The Association will not be held responsible for any liability or damage to vehicles. Unfortunately, we cannot hold up the road sealcoating project for unmoved vehicles.

Annual Meeting Notice & Board Candidate Resume Requests
Dear Riverbend Homeowner:
The Annual Meeting of the Riverbend Townhouse Owners Association will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2008, at 7:00 P.M. The meeting will be held at the North Brunswick Municipal Complex, Court House, on Hermann Road, in North Brunswick. At this meeting one (1) homeowner will be elected to the Board of Trustees for a three-year term.
Attached please find a copy of the “Board Candidate Resume” form. If you are interested in volunteering your time and expertise for your community, please complete the attached form and return it to management at the above address. Your completed form will then be forwarded to the Nominating Committee for consideration. All owners are encouraged to consider becoming active in the community, by running for the Board.
Please mark your calendar accordingly, and ensure that if you are interested in becoming a Board member, the management office receives your resume, by no later than October 3, 2008. A subsequent mailing will be sent including the candidates’ information, a proxy and a copy of the agenda for this meeting, in November.

There is a recycling pickup today.
The pickups of plastic, glass, newspapers, and cardboard usually occur between 8 AM and 10 AM on alternating Thursdays. See the North Brunswick Township site for the full schedule. Riverbend is in Zone 3.
Please note that the recycling pickups near the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays have been adjusted to accommodate the holidays. The reminders here have been updated to reflect the changes.
As of October 2007, North Brunswick’s recycling materials were picked up by Central Jersey Waste and Recycling, Inc. of Trenton, NJ. You can reach them at 609-656-4200.
