Except for the choice of typeface in this printed newsletter, which did not lend itself to the usual OCR. This newsletter was simply read aloud to dictation software which did the heavy lifting. It’s actually faster than shuffling the pages through the scanner! But the error domain shifts from correcting character recognition inaccuracies to managing the eye-brain-mouth gymnastics required to read for accuracy rather than comprehension. (Who proofreads this stuff before it’s printed, anyway?) |
