RE: An update on recent activities and the impact on the community
Dear Riverbend Homeowner:
Like everyone else in the Northeast, we have suffered through an historic winter. February saw more than three feet of snow in central New Jersey. By contrast, last year we got less than two feet of snow for the entire [...]

Riverbend to Get Official Web Site

Last night I was invited to a meeting of with some of the members of our Board. The topic of discussion was the creation of an official Riverbend Community Web site. I suppose that I was invited because I’ve been running the unofficial site, this one, for better than a decade. I’m pleased to report [...]

Bizzard of 2010 Hits Riverbend

Wednesday brought a blast of snow the likes of which Riverbend has not felt for a few years. Our snow removal contractor, Growing Concern, made a couple of passes through the community early on but after that I didn’t see any evidence of them until after sunset.
Riverbend Drive looking east. That's a Police car facing [...]

Happy New Year!
I’m pleased to tell you that the recycling dates on our calendar are now current through the end of 2010.
I’m equally displeased to report that my tax bills arrived in the same envelope. Maybe you noticed a slight reduction in your taxes? Try not to spend it all in one place.
I updated the [...]

New User Registrations

Long-time readers may recall when I reported large numbers of spam accounts being created here, and the measures I put in place to combat them. Subsequent monitoring showed the move to be an effective one and the problem is no longer bothersome.
A side effect of these measures is that sometimes, unfortunately, a legitimate user registration [...]

December Site News

I just finished a handful of software updates to the site. Everything went smoothly, but as usual if you encounter any difficulties then please let me know.
I was seriously underwhelmed by today’s massive snowstorm. The forecasts were for some serious accumulation but nothing much came of it as the front slid to our south.
The holiday [...]

2010 Recycling Dates

According to North Brunswick Township officials, the recycling calendar for 2010 hasn’t been finalized yet. Still, they’ve given me the dates for the first quarter and I’ve updated our calendar.
I’m told that they will have it all nailed down in time for inclusion in our – gasp – tax bills.

re: attic in the garage??

Lopez recently wrote about insulating the above-garage space. I’ve thought from time to time about making better use of that space. While those plans didn’t include insulation I’ll share some stuff I’ve discovered. Depending on the style of your home this may or may not apply.
My space is trussed; the trusses are low and spaced [...]
